Hotel channel managers: prices and how to choose

One room sold twice on two OTAs means one guest turned away at the desk. Here is how to prevent it, and what the options cost.

What it does

What a channel manager does, and what it does not

Many hotels buy this software expecting too much of it. The boundary is clearer written side by side.

Does

  • Closes a room on every connected OTA as soon as it sells on one of them.
  • Sends room rates and availability to every OTA from one place.
  • Pulls bookings from every OTA into one calendar.
  • With some vendors, provides a booking engine for your hotel website.

Does not

  • Set room rates and promotions. That is a person's decision, not the software's.
  • Answer guest messages and questions.
  • Fix the photos, descriptions and content of each OTA listing.
  • Housekeeping, night audit and F&B billing. That is the PMS's job.

Common questions

Software that connects your hotel's room calendar and rates to every OTA at once. As soon as a room sells on Booking.com, it closes on Agoda, Traveloka and every other connected OTA too.

Published software prices run from about IDR 399K to IDR 1.04M a month, checked September 2026. STAAH and Cloudbeds price on request. Installation and monitoring are charged separately from the software.

A channel manager handles selling rooms on the OTAs. A PMS runs the hotel's operations: check-in, housekeeping, night audit and billing. A hotel that already has a PMS usually only needs to add a channel manager and a booking engine.

Not entirely. Sync can lag or stop, for example after an OTA changes its rules or account access changes. That is why the connection needs monitoring, not just installing.

For a hotel that already runs a PMS, we install STAAH. Above roughly 60 rooms, or if you want one vendor for the PMS and channel manager, Cloudbeds. For a villa of 1 to 15 units, Beds24 is enough.
